winter 2017-18 key #trends
the sustainable denim: organic, recycled, ceo-washed denim inspire us to go green.
a new taste of denim: who knew that coffee would too! 350ml of coffee is enough to make one pair, with the added bonus that it makes them anti bacterial. Eco design at it's best. Belgian designer Bart van de Woestyne is doing exactly this, a type of design magic this with his brand Prosperity Textiles. "Put the bean in your jean" he says, as is all about eco friendly dying and recycling things into clothes. Wrangler have snapped up his corn made fabrics.
second skin: womenswear was all about strechy jeans, that were almost like leggings that stretch to fit your curves with seamless, hyper stretch fabrics. Lots of photos of women draped ballerina style on exercise ribbon bands, wearing jeans, demonstrated that comfort is a main focus.
glitter & lurex: mixed comfort with feminine allure
provocative message: the new punk mood
Knit & jersey denim: technologically advanced, innovation and authenticity
tailored craftsmanship: the majority of the style focus this year was on men's denim, with lightweight shirts and denim mixes taking on an almost linen form of delicate and desirable textures.
going green: green denims were a nice addition to the sea of blue.
dusty black: industrial strength
soiled surfaces: colour wise, burnt reds that seemed like leather
natural leather: Titanium tanned leather, recycled leather and recycled cardboard labels being another emphasis on smart creation.
quilted denim, red stitches, velvet surfaces, striped textures
