Resort season is here and it's all about location, location location. Fabrics inspired by countries of the southern hemisphere are the star of the pre Spring shows. From South America to Asia and the colourful exuberance of Africa. Lots of primitive graphics and aesthetics, with a hint of Frida Kahlo. Flamboyant mega trends of tropical prints and fruits have appeared on the runways of House of Holland and Valentino.

What a buzz at the Denim PV Barcelona textile tradeshow on May 18-19th, with a new taste of denim trends for A/W 17-18. Three is the magic number, because that's how many plastic bottles it takes to make a pair of jeans. Who knew that coffee would too! 350ml of coffee is enough to make one pair, with the added bonus that it makes them anti bacterial. Eco design at it's best.

Christian Louboutin added 5 more shades to his nude shoe collection, so it's officially confirmed, nude is the hottest colour strutting around. His S/S 16 ad campaigns shows ballerinas lounging around in their skin toned taffeta's, with matching nude ballet pumps. So romantic, like Degas ballerinas. Fashion is embracing this soft, au naturale look at the moment, and underwear is having a skin colour Renaissance of late.
