For Spring Summer 2016, it's all about red blossoms and red wine. Whether it be Bourganvillea, Bordeaux or Burgundy. The colour of love, passion and power gets us in the mood this spring/summer 2016. Red is a big theme, used as the backdrop of beautiful prints, as seen on the catwalks of Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Jonathan Saunders and many others, also on the catwalks of Boglioli.

The mood of the moment is body shaping, with an emphasis on the waist. Bold bras and bodies to be worn under jackets, a little wink at the 80's, are of the moment, on trend items. Body shaping, figure hugging and tailored seduction are demonstrated with delicate transparent materials and modern technology. Underwear as outerwear, baby doll dresses, light weight slips, stretch satin and lace, offer a flirty femininity and relaxed luxury.

For spring 2016, designers still looked to military uniforms for inspiration. From cargo pockets to army green, it was all about making something wearable, durable but luxe. We can definitely say that if there was one dominant trend that swept the 2016 coming from 2015 catwalks, it was military green and this season saw the color spectrum widen further with hues like bottle green and jade proving “simple” green is far and away SS16’s key color.
